It was explained to the children that the mosque is a place where Muslims go to to pray. They follow the Islamic faith.

Everyone removed their shoes before entering the mosque.
They were told that the Malay word for mosque is masjid and the holy book used is called the Quran.
This is the hall where the muslim men pray. Visitors are not allowed on the second floor where the muslim women pray.
Some of our muslim friends shared some lines that they sing during their prayers.
Mr Iskandar shared with everyone that green, yellow and gold are used in the mosque as they are considered royal colours by the Sultan of Johor who commissioned the building of the mosque.
He also shared with us that the tiles on the pillar behind the television is original and from 1924, the year it was rebuilt.
Before praying, muslims go into these wash areas to clean their hands, face and feet.
