The Little House (Montessori)
This is how we celebrate Chinese New Year at The Little House (Montessori).
These are the goodies, each with their own symbolism, that the children got to sample and take home.
The children pasted the animals of the Chinese zodiac in sequence.
The older children were given the opportunity to help the younger ones in completing their sheets on the 12 zodiac animals and Chinese New Year treats.
They learnt why the lion dance is performed during the Chinese New Year.
A video was played to show the story of "Nian", explaining why people use firecrackers to welcome the new year.
