As the children stepped off the bus, they made their way to the first stop, which was Woodlands Madras, to kick start the Deepavali Walk.
Once they entered, the children were taken to their seats to wait for their prathas.
As soon as the parathas came, everyone began digging in. They were given the option to dip it in sugar or in sambar (a lentil based vegetable stew).
The adults who went on the trip also enjoyed their meal at Woodlands Madras. They were served famous Indian dishes which included appam, idli, uttapam, vadai and bhatoora.
Then, they were taken to the next stop which was a shop nearby that sold costume jewellery and bangles. The children looked at the colourful jewellery and accessories before moving on to choose their own bindis.
The older ones looking through the bindis together with their younger partner.
To end the Deepavali walk, the children were brought to the bustling bazaar set up for the occasion. It featured many stalls selling colourful decorative items and snacks.
